Policies

I want piano lessons to be fun but I also like structure and feel strongly that it is necessary to run a studio.  I've found that it is best to be upfront about policies, that way there is no confusion or irritation.  Please feel free to email me if you have additional questions. 

Missed/Makeup Lessons:
Due to my limited availability, makeup lessons cannot be guaranteed.  Legitimate reasons for canceling lessons do not include too much homework, birthday parties, not practicing or simply forgetting. If you know you will have to miss a lesson, please contact me at least 24 hours in advance; otherwise, that lesson will not be made up, nor will the payment be adjusted. Another option, to avoid missing a lesson, is to switch the lesson time/day with another student for that week.

Materials: Students are recommended to use a tote bag to carry books to and from lessons. Students & parents are responsible for making sure that ALL books and songs are brought to each lesson.

Payment:

Payment is due the first week of the month, a $5 fee will be added for late payment.

Lessons:

Parents are welcome to come to lessons but I've found that most children do better without their parents in the room. I prefer parents to quietly listen from the next room or drop the child off, this gives the student & myself the opportunity to be at ease with one another.
